Google Unveils Pixel 2 And Pixel 2 XL

On Wednesday Google unveiled their updated Pixel phone to compete with Apple’s iPhone 8 called Pixel 2 that is loaded with impressive features such as a dual pixel autofocus smart camera, allowing users to take high-quality portrait shots with background blurs, a water-resistant metal unibody with longer battery life, and a Google Assistant that you can squeeze for real time help using your voice.

Google Assistant allows you to control your music and your smart home devices.

In the coming weeks, you can use Assistant for other tasks.

After saying “good night” Google Assistant can silence your phone, turn off the lights, and even set your alarm.

The Pixel 2 comes in 2 sizes: 5.7 inch Pixel 2, and the 6.0 inch Pixel 2 XL.

The rear camera has 12.2 MP while the front comes with 8 MP.

The fingerprint sensor is located in the rear.

The Pixel 2 has a crystal-clear cinematic OLED display, optimized for virtual reality, and comes in 3 colors: Just Black, Clearly White, and Kinda Blue.

The larger Pixel 2 XL has a sharp POLED 18:9 display for immersive viewing, optimized for virtual reality, and comes in 2 colors: Just Black and Black and White.

Both Pixel 2 and 2 XL both have free, unlimited original storage and are also equipped with Google Duo, a high-quality built in video calling app, and Google Lens, a smart image recognition feature connected with Google Assistant and Google Photos.

You can use Google Lens to copy URLs and contact info from a business card or picture of a poster.

The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 using Android 8.0.0, Oreo and have an always on display, allowing you to see notifications at a glance on the Pixel screen without having to hit the power button.

The software has a minimum of 3 years of OS and security updates.

The battery is good up to 7 hours on 15 minutes of charging.
