Apple unveiled 3 new iPhones at Cupertino, California on Tuesday, including their upscale iPhone X on the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, which comes loaded with state of the art technology such as Face ID, a new True depth camera, wireless charging, and custom tuned cameras for the ultimate AR experience.
Available in Silver and Space Gray with a capacity of 64 GB and 256 GB for a premium price of $999.00, the iPhone X has an all glass design with a beautiful 5.8-inch Super Retina display and A1 Bionic, the most powerful and smartest chip ever in a smartphone with an integrated Apple designed GPU and a three core design that can deliver up to thirty percent faster graphics performance than the earlier generation.
“For more than a decade, our intention has been to create an iPhone that is all display. The iPhone X is the realization of that vision,” said Jony Ive, Apple’s chief design officer.
“With the introduction of iPhone ten years ago, we revolutionized the mobile phone with Multi-Touch. iPhone X marks a new era for iPhone… one in which the device disappears into the experience” added Jony Ive.
The iPhone X features a 7 MP True Depth camera that provides a new and secure way for customers to unlock, authenticate, and pay using Face ID and a redesigned 12 MP rear camera with dual OIS.
Besides enabling Face ID features, the 7 MP True Depth camera also comes with wide color capture, auto image stabilization, and a Portrait mode to the front camera for enhanced selfies with a depth of field perspective.
The cameras on the iPhone X are custom designed for the ultimate AR experience, including calibrated cameras, and gyroscopes and accelerometers for motion tracking.
The True Depth camera can bring emoji to life in a new way with animoji through the True Depth camera which can capture and analyze over 50 different facial muscle movements and then animates the expressions in a dozen different animojis.
“iPhone X enables fluid new user experiences… from unlocking your iPhone with Face ID, to playing immersive AR games, to sharing Animoji in Messages… it is the beginning of the next ten years for iPhone” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
iOS 11 is redesigned to utilize the Super Retina display and replaces the home button with fast gesture features that allow iPhone X users to navigate by swiping up.
Customers will be able to order the iPhone X on Friday October 27th.
