U.S. Stocks Open Higher

U.S. stocks opened higher on Wednesday following a stronger than expected consumer confidence report yesterday which saw consumer confidence rising to a 15 yr. high in December.

The U.S. 10 yr. Treasury yield rose again today and is 2.56 percent, inching closer to 2.6 percent that was reached on December 15th after the U.S. Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the 2nd time in nearly a decade during their December policy meeting.

Later this morning at 10:00 ET pending home sales for November will be reported.

The U.S. economic calendar is relatively quiet this week.

Next week will be a shortened trading week due to New Years holiday observed on Monday and will feature the U.S. jobs report coming into focus later in the week.
