Democrats Head To Philadelphia To Support Clinton At The Democratic National Convention Amid Embarrassing E-Mail Controversy

Democrats will be sponsoring the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia beginning today and a wide list of celebrities and popular entertainers will be present at the three day convention signaling their support for Democratic presidential candidate Hilary Clinton.

Some of the celebrities attending the Democratic Convention includes Katy Perry, Alicia Keys, Eva Longoria, Demi Lovoto, America Ferrera, Lena Dunham, Star Jones, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Snoop Dogg, Bryan Cranston, and Stephen Colbert.

Last week Republicans held their convention from Cleveland that culminated in Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump giving a long winded convention speech that was highly critical of Hilary Clinton.

Republicans Senator Ted Cruz and Ohio Governor John Kasich both failed to endorse Donald Trump at the Republican convention.

Drama At the Democratic National Committee

The release of 20,000 stolen e-mails from the Democratic National Committee computer servers on Friday first released by a hacker and then by WikiLeaks has resulted in a resignation from Democratic Party Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz over the week-end after some of the hacked e-mails revealed that she favored Hilary Clinton over Bernie Sanders during the primary season.

Questions have emerged over the source of the e-mail hack on the computer servers and whether Russian President Vladimir Putin may have been behind the cyber attack.

Researchers have determined that the servers from the Democratic National Committee was breached by two Russian agencies behind attacks last year at the Joint Chief of Staffs, the State Department, and the White House.

It is unclear at this point whether Russian President Vladimir Putin called for the e-mail attack or whether it was conducted without his direct involvement.

Last week Donald Trump conducted an interview with the New York Times and voiced criticism over NATO members who contribute less than 2 percent target of their GDP.

Both France and Germany are countries that have failed to meet the 2 percent of GDP target.

Although Hilary Clinton has voiced similar criticism towards NATO members who contribute less than the target amount, Trump’s recent comments to the New York Times last week in which he said that if Russia attacked some NATO countries in the Baltic region, he would decide on whether to come to their support based on whether those nations fulfilled their financial responsibilities has caused some concerns in Western Europe.

Recent Election Polls

Republican nominee Donald Trump received a post convention bounce in the election polls.

Real Clear Politics reported today that Trump leads by +3 in a recent CNN/ORC poll, and by +1 in a recent CBS poll.

A Sunday poll in the LA Times shows Trump with a +4 point advantage over Clinton.
