Clinton Puts Costly, Partisan Benghazi Investigation Behind Her

On Tuesday the House Select Committee on Benghazi released a final 800 page report from a 2 year investigation estimated to cost $7 million led by Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-South Carolina) that concluded there was no evidence of culpability or wrongdoing by Hilary Clinton who served as U.S. Secretary of State during the September 11, 2012 attack at the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya when Islamic militants killed U.S.Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith.

Several hours later, a second gun attack occurred in another compound and Islamic militants killed CIA contractors Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

After the attack occurred, the media and top U.S. political officials reported that the Benghazi attack was a protest sparked by an anti-Muslim video called Innocence of Muslims that went viral on the Internet.

Later investigations concluded there was no such protest in Benghazi and the attacks were premeditated by militants.

However, captured suspect Ahmed Abu Khattala admitted that the Benghazi attack was in retaliation for the video Innocence of Muslims.

The controversial video Innocence of Muslims was perceived as denigrating towards the Islamic prophet Muhammad which led to demonstrations and violent protests across Egypt and the Middle East on September 11,2012, the same day of the attack on 4 Americans in Benghazi.
