Greek Prime Minister Tsipras Meets In Brussels For Another Round Of Negotiations Over Greek Bailout

avvGreek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is scheduled to meet in Brussels with leaders from the IMF, the European Commission, and the ECB on Thursday morning after Greek bailout negotiations ended yesterday with no agreement.

Later today, finance ministers from the eurogroup will be meeting again – just ahead of a EU Summit meeting with EU leaders.

Greece and their three institutional lenders from the ECB, European Commission, and ECB have disagreements over the size of Greek pension reforms and budget cuts with Athens focusing more on implementing tax increases instead of austerity related cuts.

Alexis Mitropoulos, a Syriza member of Greece’s parliament, said on Star TV that Greece is being confronted by a “cartel of lenders” and emphasized that the EU and IMF had to respect the “democratic choice” of the Greek people.
