According to the Department of Labor, the United States added 236, 000 payroll jobs in February, while the unemployment rate fell to 7.7 percent from 7.9 percent the lowest unemployment level since November 2012.
The January non-farm payroll jobs report was revised lower to 119,000 from 157,000.
In February the private sector added 246,000 jobs led by gains in professional and business services with 73,000 jobs, retail added 24,000, construction hiring increased by 48,000, and the health care sector saw job gains of 32,000.
As the sequester cuts are beginning to occur, the Department of Defense eliminated 46,000 jobs in late January. State and local governments eliminated another 10,000 jobs, mostly in education.
